From the socialization of Chinese Medicine to the newly emerging high end clinics and spas; the parallel paths of traditional Traditional Chinese medicine and modern Traditional Chinese Medicine over the past 50 years; how mainland Chinese view Chinese medicine, the low status practitioners have in society and the Brain Drain facing Chinese medicine educators; the re-emergence of charlatan practitioners and their effect on the trust in Chinese medicine; herbal usage and issues surrounding quality, convenience and prescription skill; and the return of the “Confucian” individual interested in Chinese medicine. All of these factors play into the landscape of Chinese medicine today and its evolution in the next decade; all of these factors play into the emergence and treatment of pandemics, drug resistant bacteria, and seemingly mysterious virii moving around the world.
